Two vehicles. One duty of care.

Model Y is the working vehicle. Cybercab is the network we are preparing for. Fair Berth is the independent operator in between.

02 The operator

Named. Independent. Accountable.

Fair Berth is an independent autonomous-fleet operator. We are building the layer a professional fleet needs: acquisition discipline, energy, cleaning, insurance, compliance, and a desk that does not close.

The name is maritime. A fair berth is room to lie safely — lines clear, hull unfouled, enough water to work. That is the standard we intend for vehicles, riders, and capital.

Lance Ophof is principal. Home base is Greater Orlando, Florida. We have registered interest with Tesla regarding future Robotaxi and Cybercab fleet opportunities. Tesla runs Tesla. We run the operator.

A fleet is not a row of cars. It is a duty of care, a charging window, a claims desk, and someone awake at 2 a.m.

03 Why a professional operator exists

Because a vehicle cannot be a side project.

Safety

A named party decides inspection cadence, incident response, and when a car stays in the barn. Autonomy does not remove that duty. It concentrates it.

Utilization

Idle time is the quiet loss. Charging windows, cleaning turns, and where demand actually sits have to be scheduled as one system, not three arguments.

Capital

Vehicles are long-duration assets. They need an operator who can hold them, insure them, and not treat the yard as a hobby with a loan on it.

Maintenance

Tires, glass, software campaigns, body work. A fleet is a shop floor with a map. If the shop is imaginary, the map is decoration.

Insurance

Owner, operator, and the gap between autonomy and the road. Coverage is placed before a vehicle works — not after a claim teaches the lesson.

24/7 operations

Riders do not keep office hours. Remote ops, a night desk, and a spare-vehicle pool are the job, not a weekend add-on.

04 Scale thesis

The work now is the platform.

We intend to scale toward hundreds of vehicles on Tesla’s future Robotaxi and Cybercab network. That is a statement of aim. It is not a count of cars we have on the road, and we will not invent one.

When Tesla is ready for professional fleet participation, we take a berth instead of starting from a blank sheet.

No press logos. No fabricated utilization rates. If a number is not real, it does not belong on this site.

05 Florida base

Greater Orlando, on purpose.

Florida is home. Greater Orlando is the operating picture we study: visitor corridors, airport traffic, and a long season. We are here early.

We do not claim that Tesla Robotaxi is commercially live in Orlando. We do not operate a public ride service. Tesla’s network, cities, and timing are Tesla’s to describe. Our job is to be a ready operator in Florida.
